The Caima river is born high in the Freita mountain, and falls down more than 70 meters at Frecha da Mizarela (C7), considered the biggest waterfall in mainland Portugal. It is also in the Caima that we can discover mysterious waterways (C3 – Levada de Santa Cruz) and huge holly groves (C5 – Moinhos do Rão). Ancestral paths linking the mountain villages (C6 – Ponte de Paço de Mato) and riverside beaches (C2 – Praia fluvial de Burgães) allow enjoying the Caima river and its embracing forests. The Cascata da Fílveda (C1), which falls from the top of its 25 meters, completes perfectly this line, being on itself one of the most beautiful cascades of RAP®.
