The Freita mountain reaches up to 1085 meters in São Pedro Velho, and is the highest mountain in the Gralheira massif. The Freita plateau is the heart of the Arouca Geopark and the Pedras Parideiras – stones that give birth – (F6), a unique geological phenomenon in the world, its a business card. Not far away, the Pedras Boroas do Junqueiro (F5) is a delight for visitors. Also worth noting is the Teixeira river, which excavates an impressive valley with numerous waterfalls and natural pools that can be contemplated in Canhão das Estacas (F9), Cascata das Porqueiras (F10), Cascata do Poço do Linho (F11), Cascatas do rio Teixeira (F13), Poços do Teixeira (F12) and Poços de Manhouce (F14). Senhora da Lage (F2) and Senhora da Mó (F3), where chapels were erected in honor of their saints, providing overlooking high points of view into the fertile valleys surrounding the Freita mountain range.
